The IVD-TEST AnPol reagent kit is designed to detect the most common human aneuploidies in amniotic fluid samples by QF-PCR with result detection by capillary electrophoresis.

Aneuploidy is a phenomenon, in which the cells of the body contain an altered number of chromosomes, not a multiple of the haploid set. Normally, most human cells contain 46 chromosomes, which are a diploid set (22 pairs of autosomes and two sex chromosomes). In the event of chromosomal abnormalities in the cells, there may be an additional (polysomy) or absent (monosomy) one of the chromosomes. In live births, the most common variants of aneuploidy are 13, 18, 21 and sex chromosomes.

The IVD-TEST AnPol kit allows simultaneous testing 25 polymorphic markers (four to six markers on each of the studied chromosomes) to detect Down's syndromes, Edwards, Shereshevsky-Turner, Patau and Klinefelter.
